About Spelling

If you follow my blog or know me at all, you will soon realize that I spell certain words differently from what you are used to seeing on most web sites. This is because I am Canadian and I am a spelling NUT. It drives me crazy when things are misspelled. So naturally, it would rub me the wrong way to purposely leave out letters from words that I know need them. Canadian spelling is actually a blend of British and U.S.

Happy Easter ~ Happy Spring

This 5"x7" card was a lot of fun to make but did take quite awhile. I was inspired by Jeannie Phillips' card last year and kept it in the back of my mind to do something similar. Mine has an extra spin; I had the mischievous bunnies looking for Easter eggs.

The bunnies on the EPD cartridge are just adorable! You will need to use either Design Studio or your Gypsy to get the sizing right for the eggs and bunnies. Jeannie has provided her basic instructions HERE.

"Beware of Bunnies" sign is 3" cut from WIMG. For the words on the sign, I printed off a text box on plain computer paper, traced around the sign shape and cut my word piece out by hand. Then I sponged, shaded and outlined my printed piece to give it an aged look. By the way, this was my first attempt at using the ProMarkers I won.

Inside:
I prepared the scripture verse and poem on my PC, then printed it off on a 7"x10" piece of the same background paper as the front. You would want to do a test print first on plain white paper.

For the inside top of card, I cut the frame from Fabulous Finds. See below details of cartridges used.

I may have gone a little overboard on the inside but I wanted it to carry on the theme from the front. (I took the photo at right before adding silver studs to the sign frame. I like how these touches finish off the frame.)

Lots of Layers
If you take a closer look, you'll see the many layers. This profile picture shows the dimension.

Cartridges Used:
Everyday Paper Dolls - Bunnies, grass
Walk In My Garden - Pots, garden sign, tools, the word "happy"
Easter 2010 - Eggs
Fabulous Finds - Frame inside top panel
Jasmine - the word "Easter" (welded and cut on Gypsy)
Stretch Your Imagination - "Spring"

Easter. Why is it important? Please listen to this song for the answer. The link will take you to Singsnap where I recorded, "When He Was On The Cross". Click HERE, then click the PLAY button below my picture.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you a blessed Good Friday. Have a wonderful Easter weekend, and please take time to thank God for the gift of His Son.

About Me

My photo
I guess you might call me a "right brainer", loving all things creative. Cardmaking is the perfect hobby for me as it allows me to be totally creative, combining design with poetry or verses I can compose myself. With Christmas being such an important occasion for cardmaking and crafting, I decided to create a separate blog just for Christmas projects. "It's All About Christmas" will host all my Christmas items. "Gracenotes For Today" will still feature items every other occasion of the year. I hope you'll drop by often and stay awhile!
