HAPPY CANADA DAY!

  HAPPY CANADA DAY!

To all of you who are Canadians or WISH you were, I want to extend to you my wishes for a SAFE and HAPPY CANADA DAY. How blessed we are to live in this wonderful country.

As Canadians, we do not wave our flag enough or sing our national anthem loudly enough. And yet, wherever we travel throughout the world, people everywhere are happy to meet Canadians. They might tease us about our accent or ask if we live in igloos. But those who are familiar with our great land know that we are a diverse people who have impacted the world in extraordinary ways.

Where would we be without the telephone? Thanks to one visionary Canadian, Alexander Graham Bell, we all have in our possession at least one phone and most of us cannot be without our mobile phones for even a day.

But Bell was not the only phenomenal Canadian. Check out the following list of special people, borrwed from http://particle.physics.ucdavis.edu/Canadians/:

Actors  Actresses  Artists Astronauts  Athletes  Authors
Business People  Comedians Directors/Producers  Entertainers
Journalists  Scientists  Miscellaneous

For a more exhaustive list go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadians.

Let's remember to thank God for the blessing of being Canadian. Think about this... in this big wide world, you were placed here. In CANADA. How great is that!

Here's a little something sweet and easy for you to whip up as a treat today.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries ... dressed up! Don't you just love their little tuxedo jackets!

These little soldiers are a sweet addition to your Canada Day celebration table. Choose the nicest Canadian-grown strawberries you can find. Fortunately, in Ontario they are at their peak right now.

Dip the face or best side of each berry in melted white chocolate. After cooling, dip each shoulder in melted dark or milk chocolate. With a toothpick or very tiny decorating tip, add bow ties and tiny buttons to the fronts of the "white shirts".

It goes without saying that these sweeties are as
delicious as they look!
